I need good ideas for decorating a playroom for a 2 year old?
My son is 2 and has so many toys that we need to make a playroom! We plan on having another child in a year, but for now we are going to use the extra room as a playroom until we have the other baby, then the play room will become my son’s room and the baby will go in my sons old room.
We didn’t really decorate our playroom, the walls and whatnot, because we were afraid they’d grow out of it. But, just having all the kid stuff in their really helps. We have a couple toy organizers in bright primary colors (all labeled) from target that REALLY help keep things clean and organized and are super easy for my kids to help keep things clean. Also, a good sized bookcase, as well as a kid sized table with chairs or stools is nice! Just having that stuff in the room makes it very kid friendly. We also have their bigger toys (toy kitchen, vanity, etc – can you tell I have girls?) in there too.
We have this but in with 9 bins:

and something like this:

both super easy to clean up!!
When I decorated my daughter room I wanted it to last for a while. I didn’t want to be redoing it evdery few years. So I used colors she like in stripes and circles and flowers. I didn’t make it too childish so that she wouldn’t feel like she was in a baby room years later.
For my 3 year old I split the room up in sections, he has a reading corner with all his books and pillows and his little couch there so he can sit and "read", in another corner is arts and crafts where he has his easel and little table for him to color and make stuff- all the arts and crafts I keep in a bin for him to use. In another corner we have a play table which holds all his trucks, cars, etc. and then in the last corner is a music and dress up corner. All his instruments and dress ups( ninja, chef, race car driver) are in that corner.
I also put down some play rugs (walmart $20) that have roads and houses and stuff, he likes to drive his cars through the town there.
On the walls I have numbers, letters, shapes, colors, and then a wall that I put border (like for a bulletin board) around and we put his art work up there and switch it out everynow and then.
Hope that helps!
